women words wine is about initiating substantial discussions about the place of women in society, history and the arts. We also provide a wine list to loosen tongues and ideas.

Once a month, we will be waiting for you with a book and a glass or two, no matter your sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, education or alcohol resistance.

Octavia E. Butler’s Kindred was first published in 1979. It tells the incredible story of Dana, travelling through time. Though it’s speculative fiction utilising time travel, much of its focus is showing a glimpse into the past, and the way the author incorporated so much about society into such a well paced story is nothing short of masterful.
